When I linked up with Brock Pierce while he was in transit, between meetings, this afternoon, I was reminded that some people don’t just move through history ~ they electrify it.
There’s lightning in everything he does ~ in the ideas he sparks, the risks he takes, and the way he keeps turning vision into movement.
Brock’s story is one of constant reinvention ~ from child actor to internet pioneer, from gaming trailblazer to blockchain billionaire.
He’s appeared in Disney classics like The Mighty Ducks and First Kid, and his very first memory is of being on set as a toddler, filming a commercial. By age 16, however, he knew his calling wasn’t in Hollywood lights ~ it was in digital lightning. ⚡️So he left, and built great things from the ground up. Again and again.
Brock was one of Bitcoin’s earliest believers and investors, and he helped fund the development of the Ethereum blockchain. He also launched Blockchain Capital, which backed giants like Coinbase and Kraken, and co-founded Tether (USDT), the first U.S. stablecoin.
He also co-founded Mastercoin, the world’s first ICO (initial coin offering), Block.one (developer of EOS.IO software), and led the EOS ICO, raising more than $4 billion in funding.
Today, Brock serves as Chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation, guiding the future of digital currency, while leading philanthropic projects aimed at creating lasting global impact. Oh, and yes, he also ran for President of the United States.
Our time for this conversation was short, but every minute was packed with gems on innovation, faith, and fearlessness. This episode is just the beginning … to be continued … because lightning never strikes twice ~ unless you’re Brock Pierce.
